-
I’ve worked and/or experimented with at least 10 different art mediums.
-
I enjoy recurve archery, knife and axe throwing, Muay Thai – really any self-defense skills!
Born and raised in Yosemite National Park, I had an extremely unique childhood. I went to school at the base of Yosemite Falls and spent nearly every day exploring the Park. My first job was at The Ansel Adam’s Gallery from age 14 – 18, working for Ansel Adam’s son and grandson.
At age 18, I moved to Washington State. Except for the 2 years I spent living abroad in Germany, I’ve lived in Washington ever since – although, I would love the opportunity to live abroad again.
In 2008, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and a double minor in English and American Indian Studies, focusing on tribes in the Pacific Northwest. Much of my studies were on cross-cultural education, and I spent some time studying American Indian Sovereignty and Federal Indian Law – which has been invaluable in understanding contemporary policies and socio-cultural issues.
I’ve worked in multiple industries, including management consulting, retail, education, event planning, and non-profit. I have experience in project and program management, strategic planning, marketing and communications, partner development, and training. I also have early experience in Venture Capital (+CVC), Private Equity, and emerging tech in the start-up economy.
I most recently worked for a national management consulting firm as an ESG* Consultant and DEI** Leader.
My work in ESG & DEI has been some of the most rewarding and important work I’ve done thus far, in part because I can understand many of the dimensions which make DEI so important.... I am the daughter of an artist and a Vietnam vet who spent most of my life homeless. I spent close to a decade as a military partner and wife. I have a younger sister who is on the Spectrum and I have struggled with my own invisible disabilities. My fiancé is first-generation American and I grew up with Native friends whose families had been forced off their land.
It is likely unsurprising that my personal life and my professional life led me to non-profit work and a passion for equity, inclusion, and cross-cultural awareness and education. Which all in turn brought me to DEI, as it allows me the opportunity to turn my passions into actions.

*ESG = Environmental, Social, & Governance
